Saxophone Teachers
The saxophone belongs to the woodwind family and not the brass family as is sometimes thought, it is played with a reed mouthpiece like that of a clarinet. Because of this it is common to find a number of teachers who are also clarinet teachers as well.
The saxophone is a relatively modern instrument and was invented in 1841. Initially there were fourteen different types of saxophone set at various pitches and producing a number of different tones. Many teachers will demonstrate how versatile the instrument is; it can be used for everything from pop music and big band music through to ska, jazz and the blues, and it is most closely associated with military bands.
Saxophone teachers will be able to demonstrate how music is written in the treble clef for the instrument and how variable and versatile it can be. If you are new to musical instruments most saxophone teachers will also be able to verse you well in how to read and write music so you can communicate your new talents to other people.
From the alto through to the tenor through to the bass saxophone many of the teachers listed on this website will help you let your creative side express itself and you will soon be producing stunning music. We wish you the best of luck with your new venture.
