Percussion Teachers
Percussion teachers are something of an enigma as they will be able to teach you how to properly utilise a huge variety of actual instruments to make percussive noises as part of an orchestra or to use in various other musical projects.
Along with drums (as many teachers will tell you) percussion instruments were the first real instruments used by man, in fact things as simple as clapping is in fact demonstrating how easy it is to utilise a percussive instrument. Percussion teachers will often focus on the more common instruments that are used in orchestras and amongst groups of musicians making them incredibly versatile.
Percussion instruments commonly taught by teachers include bells, celesta, cymbals, triangles, vibraphones, xylophones and wood blocks. A number of drums are also utilised when the situation calls for it such as snares, tom-toms and bass drums. Some percussion teachers will expand even more literally on the premise of the discipline and will teach you to use anything and everything to produce sounds and melodies that can be used in the construction of songs and musical pieces.
Percussion teachers vary greatly depending on their own particular interests so be sure that you know where your own interests lie before booking a lesson, playing percussive instruments can be incredibly rewarding and satisfying and we wish you the best of luck in your new endeavour.
