Bassoon Teachers

This category on the Just Music Tutors website is dedicated to bassoon teachers. The bassoon may not be many peoples first choice of instrument but as many teachers will tell you it offers a unique sound encompassing a colourful timbre tone and it can reach a surprisingly wide range for such a large instrument.

The bassoon usually plays in the bass and tenor ends of the scale although it can be played much higher should the music demand it, as we are sure you will learn from one of the teachers on our website.

As this is a large instrument it requires holding in a very unique way and cannot be played standing up without additional support (usually some form of shoulder harness). All of the bassoon teachers on our website will teach you even if you have absolutely no knowledge whatsoever, and this includes the correct way to hold and mount the instrument.

The bassoon itself is actually a very versatile instrument due to the variety of ways it can be played (as we are sure you will learn from the teachers on our site). For instance even though bassoons are tuned to perfection after being created by varying the shape of your lips and mouth or changing your breathing. There are also a variety of alternate fingerings bassoon teachers can demonstrate to you that are not available on some other wind instruments.
